Common Ground

Common Ground is a dynamic collaborative artwork created by contemporary artists Marcus Aitken and Manuela Knaut following a joint session at Aitken’s studio. Set against a raw, natural linen canvas, the piece features a expressive dialogue of gestural brushstrokes, impasto white textures, deep ink-like washes, and energetic scribbles in pops of pink and ochre. Combining their distinct artistic visual languages, the work captures a spontaneous exchange of energy, movement, and texture shared between two creative minds in a singular space.
