Kashmiri Lacquer Box - Paint by Numbers Kit

A dome of glossy black lacquer glows under warm candlelight, its surface crowded with crimson peonies, emerald leaves, and gold-edged scrollwork in the dense, layered style of Kashmiri papier-mache craft. This close, centered study captures the lidded box sitting on a plain slate-grey tabletop, one gilded edge catching a soft amber rim of light from a candle just out of frame, deepening the mood into something quiet and intimate.

What makes this piece rewarding to paint is the repetition with variation: the same folk-flower motif stacks across the domed lid and the box body, giving you two related planes of pattern to bring to life. Rich jewel tones (black, gold, emerald, crimson) are built from a matched set of premium acrylic paints, so each graduated petal and curling vine develops real depth as you work through the numbered sections.

The scene rewards patience more than speed, making it a satisfying pick for hobbyists who enjoy intricate floral and folk art designs, as well as beginners guided by the pre-printed numbered canvas and reference sheet. It also makes a warm, handmade-feeling gift for anyone drawn to Eastern decorative art or candlelit still life scenes.

Clear your table, pour some tea, and let this glowing little box become your next slow, meditative project.
