Koala in the Gum Tree - Paint by Numbers Kit

Nestled snugly in the fork of a eucalyptus trunk, this koala gazes out with soft, sleepy eyes, its round grey body curled comfortably against the pale bark. The scene captures that quiet stillness so distinct to Australia's forest canopy, where broad olive and blue-green gum leaves fan out in flat, overlapping masses around the sleeping marsupial.

Gentle overcast light bathes the whole composition in muted grey-green tones, avoiding any harsh highlights and lending the painting a calm, almost meditative mood. The graduated shading in the koala's fur and the layered eucalyptus foliage make this a rewarding piece to paint, with a pre-printed numbered canvas guiding every soft transition between shadow and light.

Whether you're new to paint by numbers or a seasoned hobbyist looking for a soothing project, this design's large, clearly defined shapes make it approachable without feeling simplistic. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves Australian wildlife or native bushland scenery.

Bring this gentle gum-tree dweller to life on your wall, one numbered section at a time.
