Winter at Black Canyon - Paint by Numbers Kit

Snow clings to the dark rimrock while the gorge below drops into deep charcoal shadow, its walls striped with pale ice and windblown drifts. This scene captures the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in the hush of winter, when the usual sun-baked rock turns to a muted study of ice-blue and gray under soft, overcast light. A thin ribbon of river is just visible far below, hemmed in by the canyon's near-vertical cliffs.

In the foreground, dark clumps of juniper break up the snow-covered ledges, their green-black shapes anchoring the composition against the vast, cool distance. It's a quiet, almost meditative view, the kind of stark winter beauty that rewards patient, careful painting. The pre-printed numbered canvas breaks this dramatic landscape into clean, manageable sections, so even the layered rock and graduated snowfields come together with ease.

Whether you're an experienced painter-by-numbers or just starting out, this Black Canyon scene offers a satisfying balance of bold shapes and subtle color shifts. It makes a striking addition to a mountain or national park themed wall, and a thoughtful gift for anyone drawn to rugged, wintry landscapes. Pick up your brushes and bring this snow-hushed canyon to life on your own wall.
